In the Beginning of Overhead Conveyors
We’ve been going back and forth about what to write about in our first real post on the new blog. Since this is the beginning of the blog, we thought that we’d start with some basics of overhead conveyor systems and why Bridgeveyor™ has been so successful in over 45 years of business.
The Stereotype of an Overhead Conveyor System
Unless your business already uses an overhead conveyor, there’s probably a bit of a “mystique” surrounding them.
Mystique is another word for misunderstanding. And the main misconception about overhead conveyors is that they are only used in large manufacturing. Major processes, complex warehousing, etc., etc..
While some of our customers are among the biggest manufacturers in the world, including Ford Motor Company and General Electric, we also have customers in a surprisingly diverse range of businesses; some who operate is surprisingly small spaces, using overhead conveyors for surprisingly simple processes.
It’s All About ROI
Why would a small company, operating in a small space and wanting to optimize a simple process want to use such a large, cumbersome and complicated piece of machinery? Because they want payback.
First, Bridgeveyor’s C-250™ conveyor line is only as large, or small, as you need it to be. Second, it is so un-cumbersome that your own maintenance people can set-up your system (or we’ll do it for you). Third, it can be used to optimize all sorts of processes, from manufacturing and assembly, to order pick and pack.
If there are many misconceptions about overhead conveyors, here’s one thing that many people don’t realize: most of our overhead conveyor systems pay for themselves after just one year. And we have many systems that have been in operation for over 30 years.
There is a lot more to tell you about overhead conveyors. After all, we are the original manufacturer of the famous C-250™ – conveyor line! But we’ll leave it here for now and tell you more in future posts.
